But then really thinking about it is those at the top of the pile who have been doing all the shouting yet they have benefited the most. Then we come to Brexit If we have another referendum then democracy will be dead and buried in this country of ours , we voted that's it is done , it is those that did not vote who are to blame and are shouting fowl . And it is true that those making the most noise about leaving are those who are going to loose the most Bankers Politicians and those working in that corrupted organization the EEC if you love them so much pack up and leave . |

Comments: | Did you know how the Tories got there name ? It may come as a shock so if you are a Torie sit back with your G&T or scotch and read on ,The nickname, Tories, originated in Ireland in the mid-sixteenth century, deriving from the Gaelic word "Toraidhe", which meant plunderer, robber,,thief, barbarian and general yobo. Even though they officially changed there name to Conservatives , the original name seems to have stuck I wonder why ??????> |

Telling us that they are going to build there bloody city here and make lots of Wonga to line there already gold lined pockets . Well here are a few home truths that Torie boy will not like you to know. Why do you think the M20 is being widened ? answer a dam great lorry park not for the commuters ,keep two lanes open two for freight and two for cars all the way to clackets lane. Why are all of these new homes needed not for our off spring but for those who have immigrated here and paid diddly squat into the system and reside in London. Ok you call me racist but wake up that's why certain London councils want shot of them to ease the burden on there councils. As a foot note did |

Chicanes speed bumps useless cars just go over them. Householders living along the A25 Sevenoaks & Maidstone will have seven nights of sleep deprivation. How many have been informed by letter that as of the 24 April 2017 the A25 will be closed to all traffic from 2000 hrs and 0600hrs for up to seven nights. Not only is it likely that you will not be able to get into or out of your roads or property they can prepare themselves for seven sleepless nights, And Paddy o jobs worth " Sure ye,s cant come down here roads close so it tis " . It is totally useless lays around like dust , Drives a 4X4 And is referred to by many as a D F L (Down from London) can be seen clogging the carparks of the plastic pubs at week ends not to mention the country lanes , Tends to be very loud and well heled , "don't you know darling" . And if that lot does not make you depressed the councillors folly will, Six or eight weeks of hell on the A25 from skew bridge to dark hill. And at the completion we will have a nice smooth pot hole free road surface with lots of obstacles dotted here and there to slow the traffic . Then paddy will turn up within a month to dig it up again. Bugger it I'm off to New Zealand had enough . |

Comments: | Blue Bear - responding to first comment, could not agree more, provided by immigration you mean all outsiders moving into the village. Regarding public money and the War Memorial, I can assure you that waste of public money is a constant bane of mine, and if you went a little deeper into our history you would we are called the DIY village because we take on these projects ourselves, saving a lot of money. This time though we are building on Highways land and have to comply with their criteria. And it will still come in at a sensible price. I put a lot of personal effort into ensuring we do not waste public money, as do the rest of the Parish Council, and there is only one Tory amongst us. |

Comments: | For years now it has always puzzled me as to why when the erection of a public building or monument must always be built at treble the price of that of an established family builder from the area . As I understand the war memorial is a dam good idea but why is it so much public money is being spent on it ? I know for a fact a local builder could erect a wall for less why must these builders approved by the local and county council be used what happened to fair competition and trade something wrong somewhere !!! |

Blind corner pavement and road altered already people just driving out into the path of oncoming traffic a complete disaster and a waste of tax payers money. I just hope the person who is unfortunate to have a smash here sues the council for every penny that they can get. And the person who designed it is brought to book. Comments: | Having been involved with Remembrance ceremonies at the Platt Memorial, it is a nightmare having cars whizzing past all the time. Others mention closing the road for a service at the Western Road site but I think you wll find that the police will not do this. They won't close the A25 at Platt, and there are two roads involved at the Western Road junction. The setting at the library will be a peaceful place for anyone wanting a quiet moment by the memorial. That would not be possible in any of the other locations apart from Crow Hill, which is too far out of the village. |

Comments: | This should stand proud at the entrance to the village. A visible 24/7 location has to be a better and more fitting tribute to those who gave their lives than a hidden or less visible location that is more accommodating for a once a year service. We can close roads off for the very well supported and attended Xmas lights. I am sure we could manage a similar something for the remembrance service. The western road location also has the advantage that all the passing traffic (until we get the missing slip roads) will se it too. Once we have the slip roads it would be in a more tranquil location by default. A win/win. |

Comments: | Looking at all 5 sites, I would say that the Western Road or the High Street location would be most suitable. Crowhill, Rock Road and behind the Library seem a little bit out of site out of mind. Western Rd has the advantage that there is greenery and a bit of space around it and also whilst being in a prominent location is slightly away from the eye if people did want some space. The High St could have an advantage that the Road could be shut off for Remembrance Day itself and therefore a little quieter however would always be overlooked if people wanted 5-10 mins throughout the year> |
